Our goal is to platform both Polish and international artists who are working in ways that are underrepresented in the local contemporary art scene; to support artists and cultural workers in creating experimental and challenging projects; and to initiate cooperation with other experimental spaces and projects internationally. We support all kinds of artists, from emerging to established, and aim to nurture a community that is inter-generational, inter-cultural, and inter-dependent. Stroboskop is first and foremost concerned with being an opportunity for all individuals with whom we collaborate.

We welcome proposals! If you’re interested to work with us, send us a message via email! Please share with us what you envision for your project/exhibition, and we’ll talk! And here’s our floor plan ;)

Dear all,

We’re excited to share the news that we’ve been given the pleasure and honor of taking care of Stroboskop. Huge thanks to Katie Zazenski for trusting us with this space ❤️

Our goal is to keep Stroboskop a place of artistic and curatorial experimentation. With its 10-year history, we want this space to continue supporting the community - not only as a platform for presenting art, but also as a space for creative growth, exchange, and gathering.

So, who are we?

From now on, Stroboskop will be run by two duos:

galeria niczeje project @galeria_niczeje run by Iza Roko @orphexae___ and Krzyś Bykowski @krzysbykowski and Układ Pokarmowy run by Weronika Kocewiak @weronikakocewiak and Kamil Kucharzewski @dontbankamilkucharzewski

We’ve got lots of exciting exhibitions, events, and surprises in the works. So stay tuned and come visit @stroboskop_space!

Weronika Kocewiak (*1996) – artist, curator, educator. She works at the intersection of disciplines whose common thread is the exploration and commentary on the condition of the individual entangled within a system. She creates works using video, text, performance and painting. Her interests lie in the theory of posthumanism, the aesthetics of corporeality and psychoanalysis.

Kamil Kucharzewski (*1996) – visual artist working at the intersection of dance expression, intermedia and critical reflection. In his work, he confronts the personal with the social and systemic. He works with various forms of presence.

Krzyś Bykowski (*2000) – visual artist. He explores the city as a space of tension between the synthetic and the organic. He draws inspiration from the aesthetics of decay, both as a visual phenomenon and as a starting point for reflections on the city as a space of interspecies coexistence.
Iza Roko (*2000) – curator and producer of artistic events. In her practice, she focuses on creating immersive exhibitions that, through the use of mythological and fantastical motifs, engage with themes from critical theory.

How not to wake up from the 21st century dream?| 17.08-22.08.2026

Vernissage 17.08.2026, 19:00-21:00
Wystawa „How not to wake up from the 21st century dream?”

“We sought to find connections and points of comparison with how local people relate to cars.” Starting from the personal relationship with automobiles, shaped by two cultural backgrounds from entirely different countries (Italy, Slovakia), Metalové Micettky presents "Kisses&Crashes". It is a journey that begins from their own intimacy, that gradually merges with the inner worlds of individuals, who own different stories. As well as experience automobiles in completely different ways. When they look from such an entangled perspective: the car transcends its merely utilitarian function, to become an almost companion-like presence. Evoking, by analogy, the role once played by the horse for humans. It actively embeds itself within the social and urban fabric, at times becoming an agent capable of influencing, even decisively, the life trajectories of a person.
“Kisses&Crashes” also speaks of love: toxic love, spotted in an intense love relationship experienced by cars only, that which a human being cannot.

For the time, the Stroboskop becomes fully covered in an emergency thermal blanket that holds a bond with the theme of crashes, along with the context of the garage space, which serves as a place of shelter. Inside the space, the duo presents four videopoems on four scissor jacks. The poem is composed from internal and external work, from one side its based on the interviews Tereza conducted with a guy who is into illegal races.
The material became a direct inspiration for Paco, who wrote the poem to transmit his emotions and experiences in a romanticistic way and through the experience of the car crashing, presented in the visual part of the work. The audio part of the work is produced by Paco, with synths and sounds of cars: alarm, seat belt, car doors opening and closing etc. All of these elements melted into an ethereal and contemplative audio–visuals.

"Kisses&Crashes" – originates from artists' individual practices and common experience of studying in Warsaw at the end of 2025.

Metalové Micettky is an artist duo founded in 2026 and based in Stupava and Rome, formed through the collaboration between Tereza Darášová (2002, Stupava, Slovakia) and Paco Sangrado (1998, Monza, Italy). Their practice emerges from a shared fascination with automobiles, their aesthetics, and their social role. Working across disciplines, they explore the theme of the car through text, video, textiles, sound, and installation.

Vernissage 15.06.2026, 18:00-20:0
TENSION revolves around the theme of the city, a subject present in the artist's practice for an extended period. The city functions here as both a source of inspiration and an object of study, with particular attention given to the ecology of urban space and to the city as a site of interspecies coexistence.

Tension emerges as an aspect embedded in the urban tissue at every turn, rooted, in a sense, in the fabric of the contemporary city. This tension is traceable in the relationship between the organic and the synthetic, in the way these categories permeate, interact with, and mutually shape one another. One expression of this tension can be found in the visual traces of decay within the urban landscape – a phenomenon that serves as a significant point of reference for the project. Stains, deposits, mosses, algae, and molds appearing on facades, walls, and roofs point simultaneously to the fragility of human constructions and to the presence of living entities that occupy the space of the city while remaining in the shadow of the human. The condition of tension is also understood as inscribed in the situation of contemporary humans confronting the realities of the twenty-first century – a form of affective state comprising stress, anxiety, or unease, arising from the pace of urban life, economic instability, and housing-related difficulties, as well as, on a broader scale, from geopolitical, humanitarian, and climate crises. This condition finds physiological expression in the human body: neck stiffness, jaw clenching, and various forms of chronic pain.

TENSION seeks to both express and deconstruct this condition. Tension is first inscribed in the structure of the central textile object, whose spatial form depends on a relation of tension between its textile layers. The sculpture is continuously subject to balancing physical forces, resulting in visible tension across the textile surface and a dynamic quality of form. The object and the exhibition as a whole further articulate the tension between the organic and the synthetic – manifest in the relation between organic cotton and a fiberglass skeleton, as well as in the elements constituting the exhibition setting more broadly. A further, decisive dimension is that of affective tension, linked to the visual register of the exhibition and the works on display. The exhibition has been constructed so as to induce, to some degree, a sense of unease, uncertainty, or tension itself. This visual relation, and its capacity to produce impression or emotion, is considered here within the framework of agency beyond the human. Ultimately, the exhibition does not aim to offer a singular vision of the city; rather, through the works presented, it proposes a way of looking at it. The exhibition is situated in an urban garage within a densely built housing estate, where a seemingly organic environment is constructed – one that overgrows and transforms under the influence of external forces. At the center of the exhibition stands an object that functions as a symbolic form of the non-human: an agentive being that, from within the shadows, occupies the space of the city – the space of the human – and reshapes it according to its own needs.
