SPRING FLING: a story about the beginning of spring, isolation, and survival.
As two liminal spaces occupying overlapping yet distinct grounds, SAM Rozkwit and Stroboskop have come together to reflect on both new and perennial questions: How does nature fit into an urban, contemporary life? What are the structures that we employ personally, collectively, publicly and privately, and how do we perform them? How does the performance of heritage or tradition, transition into a future where developed land is more prized than biodiversity?
We are artists, activists, humanists and scientists who position these questions within the framework of the działka (allotment garden) and the gallery, and have chosen a third element within which to explore these ideas aesthetically and conceptually. Mycelium, mushroom, rhizome: a branching fungal colony, spore-bearing fungal growth/ ‘fruit’, structure—a philosophy linked to non-hierarchical research and information systems. Theories of knowledge and connection; creating and sharing information, exhibiting slippage between animal and vegetable, without a beginning or an end. It represents a continually blurred border, from where we contemplate the overlaps between people and place, culture and community.
Spring Fling/Święto Wiosny is a fungal equinox celebration which will mark the beginning of a month-long cycle of growth and collaboration, a planting and a harvest.
We’ve created this group as a way to extend the conversation that has sprouted from this project. It’s an invitation to gather and share. We will be producing additional community-sourced collaborative events and will be using Stroboskop as a site for documenting this evolution.

W piątek 20 marca SAM Rozkwit i Stroboskop wspólnie zaprezentują 'Spring Fling // Święto Wiosny'.
Zgodnie z zaleceniami bezpiecznych praktyk w związku z zagrożeniem koronawirusem, zamiast zwykłego otwarcia wydarzenie będzie transmitowane na żywo.
SAM Rozkwit i Stroboskop, dwie liminalne przestrzenie, które zajmują zachodzące na siebie lecz różne obszary, spotkały się by rozważyć nowe i stale powracające pytania: Jak natura wpasowuje się w życie współczesnego miasta? Jakie struktury tworzymy na poziomie jednostkowym i kolektywnym, publicznie i prywatnie, i jak podtrzymujemy je w działaniu? Jaka jest rola odtwarzania dziedzictwa czy tradycji w kształtowaniu przyszłości, w której zabudowę ceni się wyżej niż bioróżnorodność?
Jesteśmy artystami, aktywistami, humanistami i naukowcami, którzy stawiają te pytania w kontekście ogródka działkowego i galerii. Wybraliśmy trzeci element, by zbadać te idee z perspektywy estetycznej i konceptualnej – grzyby: grzybnie, struktury kłączy, rozgałęziające się kolonie, narośla roznoszące zarodniki („owoce”). W filozofii zjawiska te są wiązane z niehierarchicznymi podejściami badawczymi i systemami informacji. Ich potencjał jako metafor jest wykorzystywany w teoriach wiedzy, a także łączenia, tworzenia i dzielenia informacji, wskazuje na płynną granicę między zwierzęciem a rośliną, bez początku i końca. Opisują one stale zatartą granicę, z której rozważamy przestrzenie, gdzie spotykają się ludzie i miejsca, kultura i wspólnota.
Spring Fling /Święto Wiosny to grzybowe przesilenie, które zapoczątkuje miesięczny cykl wzrostu i współpracy, sadzenia i zbiorów.
