When you hold something very tightly, at some point it will snap. *e tension comes from theoutside, and the material is passive. Deprived of its function, it hangs in limbo. *e hot asphalt alreadyforeshadows some changes.Is there life without ratchet straps?
When I walk on hot asphalt, I don’t think about it. In fact, I never think about it or aboutratchet straps. And yet, asphalt structures cross our paths every day, create them, destroy the old ones,grant us access or deny it. Embedded in the city’s structure, they regulate tra+c, tension, and therelationships between people, architecture, and infrastructure. *is tension does not stem from thematerial’s properties, but from the network of relationships into which it has been inscribed. Asa material, the ratchet strap serves to secure and stabilize, yet it possesses none of these qualities on itsown. Its function exists solely in relation to another object. On its own, it remains a conduit for thetension generated by the system, embedded within unstable networks of transport, supply, andindustry. *e materials I use are nearly invisible, yet it is their presence that sustains the structure ofthe everyday world.*e exhibition “*e Hand that Swings the Cradle” is a personal re-ection on materials andobjects taken out of their industrial and construction contexts. *e materials used in the exhibition—such as asphalt, ratchet strap, metal, and concrete—can be described as materials entangled ina continuous transformation, which organize everyday reality, even though they remain unnoticed byus. I observe the material, how it interacts with its surroundings—how it shrinks, crumbles, andstretches—but also how deeply rooted it is in our collective imagination.

Istotne są dla niej detale i małe wycinki rzeczywistości, na bazie których konstruuje szerszą narrację. Głównym medium wypowiedzi jest dla niej obiekt i instalacja artystyczna oraz konstruowanie w jej obszarze własnych materiałów i eksperyment z nimi. W swoich pracach nawiązuje do wątków feministycznych oraz obszaru teorii krytycznej. Dużą inspiracją jest dla niej również architektura i myślenie jej kategoriami.
Sztuką zajmuję się również w kontekście edukatorskim. Współtworzy kolektyw Splotka, który skupia się na wspieraniu rozwoju sztuki w życiu codziennym.
